Alanya, Turkey. 2025 marks the 100th anniversary of Rudolf Steiner’s death. How does he live on in specific individuals? Hande Başaran, musician and Waldorf teacher, gives her answers.
Which sentence of Rudolf Steiner has particularly touched you and why?
“Anthroposophy is a path of knowledge, to guide the spiritual in the human being to the spiritual in the universe.” This reminds me that inner work and greater responsibility are not separate but mirror each other.
How can people around you tell you that you are interested in Rudolf Steiner?
I try to look and see what lives behind things or speaks from within matter as a reflection of spirit—in my teaching, music, and daily encounters.
For which life questions is anthroposophy particularly important to you?
Questions about destiny, identity, and inner development—especially in moments of loss, illness, or deep transition. Anthroposophy offers direction and trust.
What thought would you like to add to anthroposophy?
Anatolian wisdom, particularly the insights of Yunus Emre and Mevlana Rumi, who speak from the heart of love and simplicity, yet are open to cosmic truth.
Which spiritual tool would you like to complement anthroposophy with?
Stillness, silence, and listening—as living space for perception, healing, and reverence.
Where has anthroposophy specifically changed your life?
It gave meaning to my wounds. I began to see patterns and tasks. My biography became a living path of becoming.
If anthroposophy were a fantastic animal creature, what would it look like?
A horse with wings—strong and grounded, yet able to shape-shift when needed. Alive in form and movement.
