Paris, France. Seminar and exhibition visit: Hilma af Klint.
Integrity denotes the alignment of one’s actions with firmly held moral and personal values. A person of integrity does what they say they will do, they walk the talk—consistently—even in challenging situations, and when no one is watching. Was the Swedish painter Hilma af Klint a person of integrity? Lecturer Andrew Wolpert says yes. In a seminar to be held on June 13, 2026 at the Anthroposophical Society in France, Wolpert explores the resolute integrity with which af Klint shaped both her private life and her artistic work, as well as the role her relationship with spirituality played in this process. The seminar gains a three-dimensional feeling through a visit to the current exhibition dedicated to af Klint at the Grand Palais in Paris where a selection of her works can be viewed in person until August 30. The seminar will be conducted in English with French translation.

Dear Editors, The question of which I have not seen any exploration has to do with the possibility that af Klint created or made room for ”bad juju” in her art. The family, members of the foundation , and the people involved with publications and research have been subjected to some unpleasant events, at least in Sweden. In one case some of the individuals involved have been threatened in a creepy sort of way. Af Klint identified some of the spirits with whom she had been in touch, but some ar not identified in her journals. How real are any of them. What does it mean to commune while in a trace with spirits? What is concerning, when there is talk of integrity, is whether her life is now being sentimentalized and given a one-sided varnishing for the sake of what, publicity? I do not ask these questions as any kind of expert in her art, or in the question of consciousness, quite the opposite. A true amateur, Eleanor
