From Cosmos to Research

Oberwil, Switzerland. This is what studying at the Goetheanum is like: Michael dela Rosa from the Philippines.

The impulse to study Anthroposophy came during my master’s degree in Crop Production in Hungary. Our professor discussed biodynamic farming, and hearing about cosmic rhythms reminded me of how my grandmother used to do the same. This, along with a visit to the Goetheanum the following year, made me decide to enroll in the program.

There were bumps during the studies, but I would like to highlight the valuable experiences I gained instead. I met people from around the world and learned about their individualities. I understood balance in movement through Eurythmy. I made my first sculpture, and the book reading and seminars were enlightening. I also now find and appreciate symmetry in nature. Finally, I was able to complete a research project on a theme I am passionate about: female biodynamic farmers’ view on agriculture. Since I grew up on a farm led by women, hearing perspectives on current realities in a biodynamic context was a meaningful learning experience. If given the opportunity, I would like to expand this research further.
