Paris, France. A lecture on the relationship between spirituality and secularism.
At first glance, secularism and spirituality seem to indicate opposing directions. After all, the basic idea of secularism is that human society is worldly and can do without religious or metaphysical influences. According to this view, religion and the state should, therefore, be separate. No mixture is permitted. Nevertheless, the concept of secular or worldly spirituality is becoming increasingly widespread. But what is behind this surprising combination? What exactly is secular spirituality? Does it have a meaning, and if so, what is it? Algerian-born artist Paul Pujol addresses these questions in his lecture, “Secular Spirituality, or the Essence of Religion.” The lecture (in French) will take place on October 26 on the premises of the Anthroposophical Society of France in Paris. All those who wish to delve deeper into the relationship between spirituality and an increasingly secularized world are invited to attend.
