It might not be just the timing of her death that connects Edith Maryon so closely to Rudolf Steiner. Like no other project, the Representative of Humanity statue was a truly co-creative endeavor between the British sculptor and her teacher and friend. Maryon died one hundred years ago, on May 2nd, and we are taking this opportunity to commemorate her. In this issue, we speak with Rembert Biemond, who has been researching the artist’s work and biography for 25 years, and Barbara Schnetzler, who is a sculptor herself and can empathize with the soul of the first leader of the Visual Arts Section.
