Camphill in the USA

Hardwick, USA. Communities need new volunteers.

The current political climate in the USA is causing many people to hesitate when planning a trip to the country. Tourism—particularly from Europe and Canada‚is currently experiencing a significant decline. Another area where this downward trend is becoming apparent is international voluntary service, a development which impacts the work of US-based Camphill communities. International volunteers have always been a vital part of Camphill’s work and community culture. A video project by the Friends of Waldorf Education (Freunde der Erziehungskunst) offers a glimpse into the daily life of volunteers at the Heartbeet Lifesharing Community in Vermont. This Camphill community is home to adults requiring assistance, long-term staff members, and volunteers from both the USA and abroad. In the video they share about their experiences within the Heartbeet community and invite anyone interested to become a temporary or permanent member of a Camphill community themselves.
