“Everything is going terribly slowly for me,” wrote Rudolf Steiner in a letter, one week before the end of his life. His sabbatical, which began in September 1924, after the almost unimaginable 70 lectures and 400 individual talks given during this creative month, was therefore not a transition he chose but a painful sign of his love of life.
