Pisac, Peru. Educational trip to Peru for Waldorf teachers.
The US-based Bay Area Center for Waldorf Teacher Training (BACWTT) maintains an ongoing exchange with various indigenous communities whose worldviews and pedagogical knowledge offer valuable insights for Waldorf education. In this spirit, the BACWTT, in collaboration with the Kusi Kawsay Andean School and Peru Cultural Journeys, is organizing a ten-day trip to Peru from August 2nd to 11th, 2026. The program is designed for practicing and aspiring pedagogues who wish to broaden their professional horizons. The trip will provide an introduction to the indigenous culture of the Peruvian Andes, including excursions to pre-Columbian archaeological sites such as Machu Picchu as well as visits to the indigenous Waldorf-inspired Kusi Kawsay Andean School. The overarching theme of the trip is a collaborative exploration of the role that indigenous wisdom and practices can play in the future of Waldorf education.
