Witten/Herdecke, Germany. A new collaboration between Witten/Herdecke University and the WHO.
The World Health Organization (WHO) has designated the Friede Springer Endowed Chair for Global Child Health at Witten/Herdecke University as the first WHO Collaborating Center for Child and Youth Health in Germany. The tasks of a collaborating center are focused on supporting WHO programs, particularly through research, training, and technical cooperation. One of the center’s main tasks is to develop digital training materials for the new compendium on primary health care for children and adolescents. The compendium sets minimum standards for primary care, for example, with regard to the diagnosis and treatment of common diseases and the coordination of specialized care. Witten/Herdecke University provides a scientific context for this work, combining research, practice, and education with social responsibility.
