Istanbul, Turkey. Supra-regional biodynamic network in Turkey.
Mesopotamia refers to the cultural landscape in Western Asia shaped by the Euphrates and Tigris river systems. Also known as the “Fertile Crescent,” it is one of the oldest agricultural regions in the world. To address the pressures and challenges facing farmers in Mesopotamia today, the Turkish Demeter Association for Biodynamic Agriculture is building a supra-regional network that offers courses and regular meetings to present an alternative to conventional farming methods. This network is aimed at people working in agriculture who want to address rising costs, declining soil quality, and the effects of the climate crisis with innovative, sustainable solutions. A ten-week biodynamic training course brought together farmers from eastern and southeastern Turkey in the first half of the year. On October 14 and 15, 2026, the conference From Mesopotamia to Constantinople will take place in Istanbul, aiming to expand and strengthen the network.
