New York City, USA. How art offers a glimpse into the human mind.
Founded in 1870, the Metropolitan Museum of Art (MET) is one of the world’s most famous art museums. It houses tens of thousands of artworks from diverse cultural periods and regions. It was also one of the first museums whose curators dared to exhibit the work of modern, non-figurative artists—long before these works gained mainstream acceptance as art. Today, the MET is known not only for its impressive art collection, but also for the pop-culture events held at the museum, the most high-profile of which is undoubtedly the MET Gala. On August 17, 2026, an excursion to the MET will take place, organized by the anthroposophical Threefold Community in Chestnut Ridge, New York. Led by Daniel Hafner, participants will visit selected exhibitions at the museum to explore how art reveals the evolution of human consciousness. The day trip is open to anyone interested.
