Steiner in Weimar

Weimar, Germany. A conference on the Weimar years.

Rudolf Steiner lived in Weimar from 1890 to 1897. At that time he was a member of the Goethe and Schiller Archive and worked on the editorial indexing of Goethe’s scientific writings. To mark the 100th anniversary of Steiner’s death, the Klassik-Stiftung Weimar is hosting a German-language conference on June 26 in the archive rooms entitled “Forward to the source: Rudolf Steiner’s Weimar Years” [Vorwärts zu den Quellen: Rudolf Steiners Weimarer Jahre]. At the former place of work of the founder of anthroposophy, the participants of the conference will have the opportunity to delve deeply into the central writings from Steiner’s Weimar years. The aim is to open up his intellectual sources anew, to uncover intellectual approaches that have received little attention to date and to discuss their significance for today’s science and culture. The conference program includes lectures on Steiner’s work The Philosophy of Freedom, which was published in 1894, on his interpretations of Nietzsche and on his intellectual engagement with Goethe’s way of thinking. The event is free of charge and open to all.
