Puppets and Humans

Ghent, USA. Collaborative Online Workshops for Puppetry.

The US-based World Association for Puppetry and Storytelling Arts (WAPSA) translates universal themes of humanity into puppetry. This year, the organization is offering collaboratively designed online workshops every two months. They are open to everyone who is curious to study humanness through puppetry. Each meeting focuses on a specific theme, which is explored collectively through storytelling, puppetry, and discussion. The next workshop, on April 25, 2026, will look at the theme of archetypes. How do they help us understand what it means to be human? How can they be integrated into puppetry to convey wisdom without being stereotyped or portrayed in a one-dimensional way? All participants have the opportunity to propose a workshop topic and lead the session.
