Love for the Action Itself

Barcelona, Spain. This is what studying at the Goetheanum is like: Laura Bonora from Argentina.

I first encountered the Studies eight years ago. They felt far away, almost like a dream. Looking back, I see that the only preparation needed was to free myself from the belief that I couldn’t do it. I didn’t need anything more than a love for the action itself. Now, one week before finishing, I feel this space has been a preparation for life, or for meeting it with a renewed perspective. And just when I begin to feel “ready,” I understand that another preparation can always come. We are always becoming. Nothing is finished, and understanding this brings me peace.

Beyond studying, we were invited into something living: a space to truly be. Human beings from 18 countries, aged 19 to 72, each with different paths, yet sharing a striving for truth and love. Through nature observation, theatre, art, and shared presence, I experienced something essential: we become more ourselves through meeting others. It is a space for creativity, where our highest human quality is honored: to be creators of our own lives and responsible for what we bring into the world. As Goethe says, we know ourselves insofar as we know the world. Here, that knowing becomes alive. We allow ourselves to be like children again: going into the world, embracing the unknown, full of curiosity, practicing openness. I feel deeply grateful for this experience.
