From Biography to Flourishing

This May, the Camphill Academy is holding an online class series dedicated to exploring biographical questions in a trauma-informed and socially therapeutic manner.

Times of crisis and transition are inevitable, but we often don’t have the best understanding or tools to navigate them. The situation becomes intensified when working with community members that have challenging support needs or come from marginalized or traumatized backgrounds. This course will explore the tool of the biographical timeline, as well as a number of social therapeutic activities, in order to strengthen our capacities to engage with these difficult moments. The course is led by Dr. Beth Barol, who has spent the last 46 years serving and supporting people with intellectual and developmental difficulties who also have challenging behaviors and co-occuring mental health issues. This course is part one of two.

  1. Sound like a wonderful course which encapsulates a very substantial portion of our modern population based on her excellent summation of “people with intellectual and developmental difficulties who also have challenging behaviors and co-occuring mental health issues.” who doesn’t?
