At Waldorf schools, lessons don’t just take place indoors—spending time in nature is an important part of their pedagogical philosophy. For Waldorf teachers who want to further their professional development in nature-based teaching methods, the Bay Area Center for Waldorf Teacher Training (BACWTT) is offering the course “Growing Sustainable Children: Gardening Teacher Training” from June 22nd to 26th, 2026. In this five-day workshop, teachers will learn how to integrate green spaces such as gardens, farms, and natural landscapes, into their lessons. The course is practice-oriented and teaches participants how to create their own nature-based curriculums as well as necessary gardening skills.
