Cape Town, South Africa. Promoting creative education in South and East Africa.
The South African organization Centre for Creative Education (CCE) aims to provide every child in South Africa and East Africa with access to holistic, arts-based education. In order to achieve this goal, the initiative focuses its work on three selected areas: the pedagogical training of teachers, early childhood education, and the representation of the interests of local communities. The pedagogical training is based on the principles of Waldorf education; training as a eurythmy teacher is also possible. The Dutch Iona Foundation supports the CCE in its mission to implement social renewal through creative education in African countries—also for people who would not normally be able to afford the financial aspect of training. The foundation particularly appreciates the care and respect with which the CCE incorporates local customs, wishes, and needs into its work.
