New Seeds

Christchurch, New Zealand. Biodynamic Conference in Aotearoa.

Biodynamic practices have been used in New Zealand agriculture since around 1928. The Biodynamic Farming and Gardening Association was officially founded in 1939. Since then, the number of biodynamic gardeners, farmers, and vignerons in New Zealand, which the indigenous Māori call Aotearoa, has steadily grown. Representatives working in biodynamics or those interested in converting their farm meet annually at a conference. This year, the meeting will take place from August 29th to 30th, 2026. The title, New Seeds: Growing the Future of Biodynamics, reflects the future-oriented focus of the conference program: lectures, panel discussions, and workshops will explore how biodynamics can be continually developed to offer fresh approaches to current agricultural challenges.
