San Rafael, California. Human beings are singing beings.
Nowadays, songs and music are mainly experienced through digital technology: smartphones, headphones, and speakers. The question arises: where is the space for an intimate connection to one’s own voice? Sound and breathing are healing for people. By nourishing our voice, we nourish our health at the same time. With this in mind, Christiaan Boele and Kate Hammond are offering a three-day workshop, “Healing through Singing,” from June 14-16 at the Marin Waldorf School in San Rafael, California. The workshop is aimed at all those who wish to cultivate a deeper relationship with the healing power of their own voice through singing. The workshop includes exercises by Swedish singer Valborg Werbeck-Svärdström, who worked with Rudolf Steiner on rediscovering the voice. The program also includes collaborative experimentation with sound, lectures, discussions, and applications of the movement discipline “Spacial Dynamics”—
movement in space.
