Diverse Community

At the beginning of May, more than 200 representatives of parents, students and teachers met for the 90th Federal Parents’ Council Conference in Germany.

The focus was on dealing with diversity at Waldorf schools. On one hand, contributions such as the lecture by Nana Göbel from the Friends of Waldorf Education showed that Waldorf education has long been globally networked. On the other hand, filmmaker Mo Asumang and Waldorf education lecturer Sven Saar broadened the view of diversity. While Asumang focused on confronting racism, Saar outlined what diversity-conscious sexuality education can look like in schools. Other important topics were networking and communication with school parents and public relations in Waldorf schools. The Association of Waldorf Schools was pleased with the successful networking of teachers and parents at the meeting.
