Giving and Receiving

Lakewood, Colorado. Renata Heberton from Angelica Village, USA, was at the conference for inclusive social development.

Angelica Village is an anthroposophically inspired intentional community and nonprofit that welcomes individuals, families, and unaccompanied youth who have been displaced by war, poverty, and violence, as well as additional community partners who wish to give and receive this healing work. Angelica Village provides sustained community support, transitional and long-term housing, and supportive services to all participants. Currently, we serve 100 people on a day-to-day basis from all over the world. Our aim is that everyone can give what they can and receive what they need in all aspects of life, and from this that people can heal, connect/reconnect with belonging and purpose, and find hope, inspiration, possibility, and health in their lives. This is our community work together. It was a great honor to be a part of the international conference for Inclusive Social Development and to be there as this new section came into being. The main inspiration from my time there was being surrounded by so many people who are doing incredible healing work all over the world. It is a true gift to sit amongst such wisdom, and the work and words of others will continue to inform our striving at Angelica Village as we venture into growing an ever more therapeutic response to all the challenges that our community members have faced and continue to face as they become a part of Angelica Village.
