Änder Schanck grew up on a farm. He studied mechanical engineering, worked briefly in the construction industry, and then spent several years farming on his brother's farm. The groundwork for the marketing companies was laid a good 35 years ago. First, the BIOG cooperative was founded, followed by the first Naturata organic shops in Luxembourg. In addition, networks with emerging organic and biodynamic farms were established, and processing plants and wholesale operations were developed, which also supply organic products to conventional supermarkets. At the same time, organic farming associations (including Demeter Luxembourg) were supported, and the company became involved in various energy projects. Today, the Oikopolis Group employs around 330 people across 15 businesses, with a combined annual turnover of around 55 million euros.
