To the Truth of Our Knowing

To the truth of our knowing,
I stand in awe.
To the way we can reawaken
to our called self each morning, each moment,

I live in the will of beings of love.

And I look into the world around me,
receive what is reported of what I cannot see.
True or untrue,
I am startled.

Each time a part of nature, a human being
is harmed, a part of me aches.
What appears to be dismantled, erased, denied,
speaks to a law of evil:

Evil can only feed itself; it cannot nourish another’s being.

Tending to, listening to the voice calling these words
is one source of will-strength
to transform what is broken
so that what emerges can bear a genius drawn from evil
into a world healing in the spirit of nourishing each other.

To the truth of our knowing
I stand in awe, bathed in humility.
I am called to serve in a time of building,
not what was, but rather a temple for the future.
For this to be, everyone is substance, architect,
laborer, and beneficiary.
