The extent to which people feel connected to their natural environment\u2014even in adulthood\u2014has a lot to do with how deeply this relationship was cultivated and nurtured during their formative years by parents, other caregivers, and educators alike. Getting to know nature serves as the foundation for a relationship of appreciation toward it\u2014one that can only truly unfold through direct contact.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The U.S.-based Nature Institute was founded with the specific aim of providing resources that foster a deeper understanding of the natural world and the inclination towards responsibility and stewardship that emerges from it. In keeping with this mission, the Institute has published an English-language guide on sustainability education. It is available free of charge on their website. The guide was designed primarily for educators seeking to integrate nature-based approaches into their pedagogical practice.
